She has given up ALL baby food and her BOTTLE! She loves every kind of meat that we give her. Yes, I encourage her to eat meat! She will only drink from one kind of cup, so we have the same cup in different colors.
I am a Chatty Cathy, so it should be no surprise that Emmalynn is too. She talks to us, her books, binky, animals, and well probably the wall. She has been saying "momma" and "dadda" for some time now along with "dog" occasionally; however her favorite word currently is "DONE". I have been teaching her this word for when she is finished eating and ready to get down. I didn't think it was actually sticking. Turns out it is. So, she is getting good at saying "done" when she is finished eating. She tries to be tricky with it sometimes. When my grandma was here, she would say "done" and grandma would let her down and she really wasn't done, she just wanted to play.
Boy or Girl??? This is a common question that we have faced since Emmalynn was very young. It throws me off when people ask if she is a boy when she is dressed in all pink! Anyhow, Matt and I have talked about piercing her ears since she was little and we just kept putting it off. We finally took her a couple weeks ago to get them pierced as an early birthday present from Papa. Daddy held her while I tried to distract her and for the most part she did really well and only cried for a few minutes. Someone still said "him" the other day when referring to her. Flower earrings and all.

Along with talking a lot, I play music throughout the day and dance with baby girl. She has started to take to any kind of music. We went to a craft fair over the weekend and she was glued to the band that was playing. Since she loves music I tend to keep her toy kitchen on the music setting. When I have her kitchen on the "spanish" setting she loves to dance to the song that plays. The funny part is that she doesn't dance when the english songs play.
Here is the terribly loud "drum mixer" that Daddy bought for her. We have shown the "booty bounce" before, now she is tapping to the beat and clapping.
We continue to make weekly trips to the park. She loves the swing
Lastly, Emmalynn is a walking machine (with her toy).
Jennie! I love it. Emmalynn is growing up into such an adorable little girl! Love the earrings (Daniel won't let me do Isabelle's ears even though she is called a boy all the time too... even when wearing pink or a bow!) She is going to be such a girlie girl... i can tell when watching her push around that walking machine... she is going to be an expert shopper :)
ReplyDeleteI love the booty bounce. Isa shakes her booty on the floor when she hears music, and like Em, she wants to have music playing constantly. Maybe we can get those two in a band with some of Sheena's kids. I can't wait to get Em and Isa together. They will have so much fun talking and dancing.
I love the swing video of her laughing... i want to play it over and over.
I miss you guys soooooooooooooo much, but it sounds like you are doing really well out there and i'm so happy for that. Don't take so long on the next update... i'll need to see lots of pictures/video from birthday #1.
