Last month we spent a lot of time in training. One of the main areas that personally resonated with us was the part about "rest and relaxation". When asked the question "if you were to start language learning tomorrow, would you be able to hit the ground running or would you be completely exhausted". We didn't think twice, we are exhausted. We also realized that it has been 4 years since we have taken a vacation. So, we decided to take some friends up on their offer to visit them in Wyoming and then venture over to see my family in Oregon. Once we made this commitment, we were completely blessed by the vacation being provided.
So, the Happy Hesters headed to Wyoming. We drove 13 hours one day and about the same the second day. Surprisingly, both kids did very well.
We made lots of stops.
Took lots of naps
Switched off driving
And "zipped" it, so we wouldn't wake the "angels" in the back
We saw a herd of buffaloes on our way in. This was probably 5 miles from where we were staying.
Teton Mountains
The view from our yard
Two very happy kiddos! They loved staying at "Miss Nancy's" home
We didn't waste any time going on an adventure. The very first evening we went out to see what we could find. There was a large animal that had passed by the back yard...sadly, we missed it.
Ahh...yes, this is a great place to find rest and peace! View from our back yard.
