It has been about 4 months since we started out job at Sterling UMC. We are approaching summer and a super busy few months. With this, we decided that we needed to take some time away and rest for a bit. We have been learning the last couple of years how important rest is. We have been seeing how we ALL need a break and time to *release*. We set off for Galveston and the beach. We had no agenda, except to be on the beach and enjoy God;s creation!
Can you tell they had a lot of fun at the first hotel?!! They were both passed out!
Can we just say airbnb.com ROCKS!

Family fun!
This is how they rest!!
REST!
On the last morning of our time at the beach. I was sitting alone just thinking and spending time with God. It was at this point that God put *My Redeemer Lives* on my heart.
The song starts with:
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning?
And who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide till evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
And who told the ocean you can only come this far?
And who showed the moon where to hide till evening?
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
I sat in awe of God and his creation. I was reminded of my study in Romans where it says:
Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
I love the beach. It is one place where all the disctractions of the world subside and I feel God close to me. I am able to hear him speaking to me and his power shouts from all around. I wonder where others feel like this? Does everyone have a special place like this where they see and hear from God in a special way?
