This week we have had an amazing opportunity to travel to Florida to visit dear friends and go to Disney World. When we were living in Azerbaijan the plan was to go to Disney Paris and meet our families there to celebrate Emmalynn's 5th birthday. Paris is a happy medium traveling from the states and Azerbaijan. However, we found ourselves back IN the states and so traveling to Paris seemed silly. In addition, we ventured to Florida with only our family of four, instead of extended family from both sides. Nonetheless, it has been a special trip. God provided dear friends for us to share this time with. It has been 2 years since we saw our close friends from when Matt was in Grad school. The Rozsa family shared life with us for two years in Kentucky; Emmalynn and Emily were the best of friends. It was a joy to my (Jennie) heart to see the two girls back together again. The Rozsas are planning to move to Hungry in the near future, so this may be the last time we see them for a while.
After many hours in the car and lost of naps, we finally made it to Florida. Daddy had a special surprise waiting for each of the kids when we made it to our apartment. Josiah as less than thrilled and had his costume off in less than 5 minutes. Emmalynn however, has had her Elsa dress on for every waking moment the last 4 days.
Lot's of squeals from inside our car; while looking at other people around us who didn't seem to get the memo that this is "the happiest place on earth"
Parked and ready to face the masses
Emily and Emmalynn reunited after 2 years
Best family photo of the entire day. Oh, to be two and just plop down whenever you like
I see a little boy who is learning to photo bomb early on in life
Family photo in front of the castle
This is where Josiah was during the previous photo
TEA CUPS are FUN!
We waited in line twice for the carousel
Guess who got picked to act out parts in the play??
Knight Daddy
Emmalynn was the fun, sassy dresser
We came out from meeting Tinker Bell and ran right into Snow White. I must say she was the sweetest that we met all day. She just loved on the girls. She also gave them big red kisses. ( I don't think I could kiss hundreds of kids each day)
It started to rain while waiting on the parade....but we didn't let it rain on our parade.
(Pun totally intended)
Josiah never wants to miss out on a train ride
Train ride = rest time for one tired little girl
Tinker Bell was the only person that Josiah wasn't terrified of. He just walked right up and started chatting with her.
And so the time comes to say good bye to our dear friends again. We love you dearly!!
Free "Fast passes" are the best! We were able to reserve our time with Anna and Elsa before it was all booked up. Emmalynn was thrilled to show Elsa her dress that looked like here's.
Such a sweet Ice Queen
She even took time to play with Josiah and his car
This queen has a way with winning over the public
This captures Em in her awe of Elsa. It really was so neat
Super fun and bouncy Anna
Ended the day with a personalized umbrella. Emmalynn has been begging us for an umbrella for like the last month. She has been walking around with a giant Walmart (yes, blue and white and says "walmart" on it) umbrella. So, this was the perfect gift to remember her time in Disney.
So, for the last few weeks we have scoured the stores looking for an Elsa dress and hair. Everywhere is sold out. Luck would have it that one day when I was looking a store an Elsa dress just Emmalynn's size had been returned. Two weeks later Matt returned to buy the hair as soon as it arrived in the store. I was thinking SCORE...this will be great for our Disney trip. So, a few days before Disney we watched a couple of videos online; to help Emmalynn understand where it was we were about to go. I asked her what Princess dress she would like to get. (Knowing she would say ELSA) Her reply: Belle, mom! I want to be Belle! WHAT IN THE WORLD?! It's too late now. I already have all this Elsa stuff. Anyhow, she soon forgot about wanting a Belle dress when we gave her the Elsa dress. However, it was a great surprise to meet Belle!
